Policy Submissions
Submissions
STARTTS prepares submissions in our areas of expertise to help raise issues which are relevant to our clients. They may be in response to State and Federal Parliamentary inquiries, or inquiries by Government departments or other agencies.
We are particularly interested in providing comment on:
*Health related matters of relevance to refugees (especially mental health),
*Immigration related matters,
*Settlement issues (housing, employment, income support etc), and
*Human rights issues.
STARTTS does this through direct submissions, or in partnership with other agencies, such as the Forum of Australian Services for Survivors of Torture and Trauma (FASSTT) and the Non-English Speak Backgroun Housing Taskforce, of which we are members.
An organisation of supporters, Friends of STARTTS, (FOS) is also involved in making submissions of this type.
