Community sector and refugee community organisations provide important services to refugees but often need further training and support for their workers, volunteers and community leaders.
In 2010 STARTTS received funding for a 3-year “Refugee Community Development Training Project” from the Community Builders Funding Program, Community Services, NSW Department of Community and Family Services.
This 3-year project (2011-2013) will focus on the development of the community sector in the Metro West region of Sydney (Blacktown, Auburn, Penrith, Holroyd, Parramatta, and Baulkham Hills LGAs) via trainings, coaching and mentoring of community sector service providers and refugee community organisations.
Only workers from refugee community organisations and community sector organisations such as Migrant Resource Centres from the Metro West Sydney are eligible according to our funding arrangements.
Any workers or students who do not fall into this category should register for one of STARTTS’ workshops in this website program or Request a training for their workplace.
