Workshop overview

Newly arrived people from refugee backgrounds experience a number of interacting challenges and stressors that can complicate their ability to recover from their traumatic pre-arrival experiences, rebuild their lives in Australia and successfully integrate into their new society. This half day workshop will explore these challenges in depth, as well as people’s strengths to be able to face the stressors. Participants will come away with a solid framework of understanding as to why their clients from refugee backgrounds might be experiencing particular difficulties and how they can use this understanding to best target services to address these complex needs.

The workshop fee includes entrance to the workshop for the half day, a certificate of attendance, and a printed copy of the PowerPoint slides.

A certificate for the half-day workshop will be emailed after the event to attendees who signed on.

Payment of the registration fee is online by credit card and a receipt/confirmation will be automatically emailed to you. An administration fee of $30 applies to all cancellations made more than 14 days before the event. Registration once paid cannot be cancelled 14 days or less before the event, regardless of personal circumstances. Registration can be transferred to another delegate only if STARTTS is informed of the name change. Registration can be transferred to a different workshop only if notice is given to STARTTS 14 days before the date of the original event the delegate registered for.
