Lilian Harman

Lilian Harman is a Clinical Psychologist and Senior Counsellor and Consultant (Clinical Development and Excellence) at STARTTS. She works with refugees and asylum seekers at varying stages of resettlement, including with people in immigration detention. In working with complex trauma, she uses an integrative approach informed by attachment theory and drawing from modalities including EMDR, schema therapy, CBT, DBT, ACT, and narrative approaches, with a focus on restoring individual dignity, agency, and meaning making.

Lilian is also an AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor and provides clinical consultation and training. She is interested in supporting clinicians and communities of practice in collaborating and developing excellence in services for refugee and asylum seekers.

Lilian holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Queensland. Prior to STARTTS, she has experience working in community, inpatient, and forensic mental health settings in the public sector, where she provided psychological assessment and treatment to clients across the lifespan presenting predominantly with complex and severe mental health issues.
