Sivaharani Mayuran

Sivaharani Mayuran has been a STARTTS Intake Counsellor/Project Officer since 2012. She has worked with clients from different age groups and diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds in both individual and group settings in Australia and Sri Lanka. At STARTTS she has also been involved in running group and community development programs for Sri Lankan Tamil community as part of STARTTS community development program. Prior to STARTTS, she worked as an Adolescent Counsellor for ‘Messengers Program’ in Canberra. She has over 17 years’ experience as a Psychotherapist (including 3 years as a Clinical Diet Counsellor). Other experience related to trauma includes Clinical Diet Counselling, individual and group treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with Tsunami victims and Grief Counselling with families and clients affected by Cancer. She is a Psychotherapist, with a Bachelor Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, an Advanced Diploma in Psychological Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a Master of Counselling from the Australian Catholic University/ University of Canberra.
