Zimra Segall

Zimra has over thirty years’ experience in working as a social worker. She has worked with ex-prisoners, in a crisis centre, and in community aged care at Jewish Care for over twenty years, where they look at each individual and every situation holistically. It’s about the person; it’s about the family and it’s about the community. They adopt a thorough approach to make sure that what they are doing makes a difference to their clients, to families and to the community.
After an initial qualification as a social worker, Zimra went on to master’s degrees in counselling and dementia care. In addition, she has qualifications in training and assessment and in financial counselling.
She is a program manager for social work, Russian speaking casework, a volunteer program and friendship clubs. She continues to work directly with a reduced caseload of clients and as a financial counsellor. Key areas of her work as a social worker are with Holocaust Survivors and with individuals living with dementia and their family carers.
She is passionate about all aspects of her direct work with clients, with her team, with the community, and with her network of professionals working for other organisations.
