COVID-19 and STARTTS Training Program

Dear Supporters,

Given the current circumstances with the COVID-19/ coronavirus pandemic and the need for social distancing to limit the spread of the virus to protect all of us, STARTTS is currently not providing face-to-face training. This means that the Clinical Master Class originally scheduled for tonight will not go ahead, nor will the workshops advertised in our public calendar for March and April. We will continue to revise the situation and will comply with government direction related to COVID-19.

The good news is that we will still be providing workshops of a half day or less to organisations upon request online via Zoom. Each workshop will be the same as the face-to-face workshop, with participants able to view the slides and video clips, as well as participate in discussions and do break-out sessions. Participants need access to a laptop, tablet or smartphone, and be located in a quiet place. The free Zoom app needs to be downloaded to tablets and smartphones in advance of the workshop. STARTTS will set up the Zoom link and send it to the organiser to forward to the participants. The participants simply need to click on the link to enter the workshop.

Workshops by request are free for health services and educational institutions offering courses in health related disciplines. There may be a fee attached for other types of organisations. Organisations can make a request to STARTTS by filling out the training request form and sending it to the training team (stts-training@health.nsw.gov.au). The form and other relevant details can be found at this link at STARTTS’ website: https://www.startts.org.au/training/request-training/
