Yazidi/Ezidi Community Commemoration – Roja Resh (Black Day) – 3 August 2021

Yazidi/Ezidi Community Commemoration – Roja Resh (Black Day) – 3 August 2021

STARTTS acknowledges the seventh anniversary of the Black Day when in August 2014 thousands of Yazidi/Ezidi were killed or abducted by ISIS forces in and around the city of Sinjar in Northern Iraq.

Commemorations will be held today in Coffs Harbour, Armidale and Wagga Wagga in memory of the many thousands of Yazidi/Ezidi who lost their lives or who disappeared in what has become known as the Sinjar massacre.

STARTTS stands together with the Yazidi/Ezidi community in marking the traumatic events of seven years ago and expresses our solidarity with the community at this time in the midst of the COVID -19 pandemic.
