Refugee Trauma Informed and Culturally Competent Care and Practice
This half day workshop will clearly outline the key practical aspects workers should be aware of to be able to work with people from refugee backgrounds including those seeking asylum. It will explore exactly what refugee trauma informed and cultural competent care actually means in practice and how it can be applied to the workplace. Participants will leave the workshop feeling more confident about working with people from refugee backgrounds in a way that minimises the risk of retraumatisation, promotes trauma recovery, is culturally relevant to the client, and allows the worker to take care of themselves.
